From the conversations with R.

There are few extraordinary moments in life, and therefore these moments are worth remembering. "Only moments are beautiful in life", as Rysiek Riedel once sang. A few days ago I had the opportunity to drive home from work with a friend I don't see very often (and who to be honest is not a close friend of mine). During this short journey, we had an incredible opportunity to share our views and insights about the world in general. Well, R. said that for a long time he has not been able to understand what is happening in the world and in what direction this world is going. He stated that the real stars in his life are the most ordinary people. "I could imagine my life without football, cinema or stage stars worth millions, Money is the highest value to which we are to strive and it is having money that will give us fulfillment and happiness. The smiling faces of "those who succeed" peeking at us from colorful magazines, publishing the list of the richest, promoting a lifestyle in which maximizing income counts - these are just some examples of instilling the cult of money in society. Unfortunately, we give in to it very quickly. Could any of us say to ourselves "that's enough, I don't need more anymore". Honestly, I know a very small group of people who could do this. Not everyone would like to do this ... In my opinion, we need a mental revolution. Nietzsche once wrote that values must be "re-evaluated" and given a new meaning. What we have been taught until now has lost its sense and credibility. It is not man's goal to earn money. Getting money was supposed to be the way to that goal, but somewhere along the way the goal got blurred. It is unbelievable that one speculates on the prices of natural resources only to raise their price and sell them for a greater profit, it is unbelievable that it makes the poorest people even poorer and the richer even richer. The system has failed and we need a new one. I have no doubts about that. Another conclusion that came to my mind after the conversation with R. is the fact that we rarely manage (I follow my example) to meet people who are inspiration. We rarely have time to talk to each other. Not "talking to yourself" but "talking to yourself". Twenty-five minutes of talking to R. made my life richer with… immeasurable amounts of wealth. I ask R. " wouldn't you want a bigger house, a newer car? "and he replies," You know, I'm already in my age and honestly I would like to enjoy my life. Why do I need more? As long as I can sit in the garden and rest on the bench and then hug my granddaughter and talk to my son and daughter-in-law during Sunday lunch, I will remain a happy person "...
