The giggle of fate
For some time I have been thinking about how much influence a mere chance has on our lives.
A twist of fate that makes you shudder by mocking our plans.
Once, during one of the conversations with my friend, he came to the conclusion that you have to be extremely unlucky to be born in Poland.
Apart from the fact that it was an obvious irony, this statement stayed with me for a long time. Or rather, the essence of this sentence stayed with me for longer.
A chance that controls our lives.
How many key moments in our lives are coincidences? Let's ask ourselves this question. There are so many variables that it is impossible to predict how our lives would turn out if any of them were affected. However, it is worth thinking about.
What if?
Starting from the very beginning. What if you were born in another country. Perhaps today he would be running from the whistling of bullets and the sounds of explosions. Perhaps today, extreme hunger exhaustion would drive you to unconsciousness. Being born in such a place would probably make it very difficult for you to get any education. If by chance you managed to get an education, then in the next step you would have to fight for a job that would probably not allow you to live in dignity, but to survive in general. If.
In another version of the story, you would be woken up by a servant who brought freshly brewed coffee with a portion of the morning press. Your concern would probably be what outfit to choose for the evening banquet on the occasion of your birthday. However, you would have to wait for the private tutor to finish his lessons.
Somewhere in the space-time of reality, someone just receives the news that he has contracted a deadly disease, while someone else reads the lottery results and realizes that he has just become a millionaire.
The extremity of the described cases is intentional.
Probably many of you have asked yourself in your life the question "Why me?", "Why is this happening to me". When someone who was very close to us suddenly ceases to exist and fate takes away a part of our world in a brutal way, we cannot understand why this is happening. Sometimes all it takes is one decision, a few seconds, to change the world. One move. The smaller it is, the more we are struck by the awareness that the reality could be completely different. The existence that just disappeared could still be, if not for this one moment. If only those few seconds could be changed.
The flutter of a butterfly's wings at one end of the earth can trigger a hurricane at the other.
Unfortunately, we have no control over what happened.
A few years ago I realised that the awareness of the inevitability of death should have a motivating effect. Waking up every day knowing that maybe this is the last act of my story should make it the most interesting act. The most important. Key one. However, we often suppress this awareness. The thought of death terrifies us.
It is also worth realizing that there are moments over which we have no control. Fate mocks our plans in a way that is sometimes hard for us to accept.
Look around. Are you surrounded by what is important to you? So appreciate it.
You never know when fate will mock you.
