What are you dreaming about?

Inspirations arise in unpredictable moments. You don't wait for inspiration. Inspirations arise somewhat by accident. They are a byproduct of the exercise of mindful observing.

Today's entry is about dreams. I do not know why. I was inspired by Jacek Walkiewicz.

The man who appeared on TedxWSB on February 13, 2013 (the speech can be watched on YT). This twenty-minute performance, which I watched only recently (sometime around 2019-20), had a fundamental impact on my perception of the world. I highly recommend it to anyone who will spare 20 minutes of their precious time to watch this speech.

Full power of possibilities

What are you dreaming about?

This is a very simple question and it wasn't easy for me to find the answer. Due to the fact that I had difficulty finding the answer to this question, I decided to ask other people as well. I wonder how everyone approaches their dreams.

Do we dream materially? About a lot of money that, in our opinion, will solve many problems? Wouldn't having a lot of money bring more problems? Or maybe you dream of a new car or a bigger house. Why is this important to you?

Or maybe you dream of meeting the love of your life. Maybe you were not able to fall in love without memory and lose your head for this love.

Perhaps you dream of health. When we encounter illness, the first emotion we experience is fear. Fear of the unknown. What's next? Health is important, but we do not always take care of it. This is probably because we have an innate ability to desire immediate reward for our actions. A reward postponed in time is no longer so attractive. That's why a small percentage of people think about saving some money for retirement. It's the same with punishment. A delayed punishment does not seem like a punishment that will materialize.

Do you dream of having an interesting job? What job is interesting for you? What do you want to achieve in this job?

In my humble opinion, it is worth considering what we dream about. It is also worth defining some dreams. What are our short-term, long-term and medium-term goals.

It's worth dreaming big. It's worth it, because our lives should be worth a lot to us.

It's also worth having a few dreams.

I have an anecdote from my private life archive. Some time ago I fulfilled one of my work-related dreams. I achieved what at the time seemed to me to be my Mount Everest. And when I was standing on the top of my Mount Everest, I thought, "What's next?"

That's why it's worth dreaming big. Let's set goals along the way. Their implementation will bring us satisfaction, which will be the driving force that drives us to fulfill our dreams. Each goal is a step on the way to realising your dreams. Our private stairway to heaven.

And what's next? Well... after that it's just magic. After that, there is only dance in the stars.
